As I chuckled to myself, I noticed a sister with big brown curls, heading inside. When I saw the little girl walking at her side, I felt like that was them. Smoothing out my shirt and standing up straight, I went to the door and held it open. I smiled and said, “How y’all doing?”

“We’re good. Thank you,” she responded.

She gave me a look like she knew me. Shiiiid, I would gladly get to know her though. She walked her thick ass right past me as the little girl with her smiled at me. I smiled back as an older lady walked in. “Are y’all the Leonard family by chance?”

The three of them turned to look at me and the older lady said, “You must be Orion.”

“Yes, ma’am. I am. Is it just going to be the three of you?”

“Yes. The rest of my family couldn’t make it.”

I nodded then allowed my eyes to slide over to the hazelnut complected woman, staring at me with her beautiful dark eyes. When she smiled, I couldn’t help but lick my lips. Dear future wife… All my posts that I made about the woman I was looking for was standing here right in front of me. Although I’d made light of the situation, making it seem like a joke, the shit was far from being funny. I was ready to settle down and dammit if I didn’t hope that she was the one.

I cleared my throat and smiled, then walked to the hostess and let her know it would only be the four of us. Turning back to them, I said, “It’s so nice to meet y’all. You are obviously the Ms. Leonard I spoke to on the phone, and I take it that this is your daughter and granddaughter.”

She smiled. “Yes. I’m Stephanie, this is Chantrice, and baby girl is Kirsten.”

I immediately began preparing to be baby girl’s stepdaddy. While I preferred to create my own family, realization had set in a long time ago. It was rare to run into a woman over thirty that didn’t have at least one kid. With as gorgeous as Chantrice was, I’d raise as many kids as she wanted me to. Hol’ up! Stop talking back to yo’ mama! I had the shit down and was ready to put it all to use. Stepdaddy Orion was ready.

Extending my hand to baby girl, she smiled, then looked up at her mother. Once Chantrice gave her a nod, she put her hand in mine. “It’s nice to meet you, Kirsten.”

“Nice to meet you, too. Orion is a different name.”

“Yeah. My mama liked stars. She was smart like you probably are. There’s a constellation called Orion’s belt. She could always find it in the sky, those three stars in a row, no matter where we were. So, she named me after that.”

She seemed to be pleased with that response to her observation. Bringing my gaze to her mother, I smiled and extended my hand to her as well. When she slid her hand in mine, the heat from it captured me. It was like she was pulling me in to experience her aura. I licked my lips and said, “It’s nice to meet you too, Chantrice.”

“Call me Chan. It’s nice to meet you too, Orion.”

Her voice though… Damn. It was smooth… soulful, and I was already caught in her web. After staring for a couple of seconds, I slowly released her hand. My attraction was evident, and I knew she noticed, because she blushed and looked away.

I cleared my throat. Come on, O. Get it together. You smoother than this. She had me acting like I’d never seen a beautiful woman before. Before I could give my attention back to Ms. Leonard, the hostess said, “Mr. Gentry, your table is ready. Follow me.”

I held my hand out, gesturing for the ladies to go first. While I was being a gentleman, I needed to be able to really get a good look at the ass on her back. As my eyes fell to it, my mouth watered.
